The Cofinity-X marketplace is the primary commercial distribution surface for Catena-X managed services: 35 apps and 32 services listed as of mid-2026. For Kaphera, this is a distribution channel, not a sales channel. The marketplace puts Kaphera in front of buyers at the moment they are actively evaluating Catena-X onboarding options.

The sub-EUR 5K managed EDC tier for Mittelstand companies (51 to 5,000 employees) is under-served on the marketplace:

Neither T-Systems nor MHP offers the open-source operator and steward-ownership combination. This is Kaphera’s entry point.

TISAX Gate

TISAX AL2 certification is mandatory for Catena-X certified solution providers since July 2025, with a 12-month grace period that ended July 2026.

What TISAX AL2 requires:

  1. Complete the ISA questionnaire (information security, prototype protection, data protection)
  2. Engage an ENX-accredited auditor for verification
  3. Remediate any gaps identified

Timeline and cost:

  • With ISO 27001 already in place: ~3 months (covers ~70% of ISA requirements)
  • Without ISO 27001: 6-12 months
  • Cost: EUR 30,000-80,000
  • ISA domains not covered by ISO 27001: prototype protection, automotive-specific data handling

Critical dependency: Think-it’s current TISAX status is unknown. If not started, worst-case timeline means certification by Q2 2027, missing the H2 2026 mandate wave entirely. This is the single biggest execution blocker for marketplace listing.

What to Do

Step 1: Confirm TISAX status (Week 1 of 90-day plan). If Think-it holds ISO 27001, the 3-month fast track is feasible for a Q3 2026 listing. If not, plan for 6-12 months and prioritize direct sales channels in the interim.

Step 2: Apply for Enablement Service Provider certification on the Cofinity-X marketplace after TISAX AL2 is obtained.

Step 3: Position the listing. Shared-plan managed connector at EUR 20-50/month. Messaging: “Join Catena-X in under an hour. Open-source EDC, no lock-in, from EUR 20/month.”

Demand-Side Risk

Cofinity-X’s own FAQ recommends marketplace business applications (which bundle EDC connectors) as the default path for non-technical companies. This could bypass standalone managed-connector providers.

Kaphera’s listing must counter this by emphasizing:

  • Multi-use-case flexibility across dataspaces (not locked to one BAP’s scope)
  • Lower total cost when running PCF + Traceability + DCM on a single connector
  • No vendor lock-in to a single Business Application Provider
